Delphino Consultancy focuces on tailor made services in the area of software- and systems development. Focus is mainly on architecture, but we can support you throughout the product development life cycle. Not in the least because a well defined architecture has been designed to take into account this life cycle.
A brief indication of services we provide is included below. All services are provided on project basis, or in a secondment package - both against curerent market rates.
(Architecture) Realisation en evaluation
Delphino Consultancy allows you to benefit from access to a vast knowledge and experience base in the area of software and systems architecture. We can either set up an architecture team for you, or support your own team.
Our experience involves object oriented and component based architectures, service oriented architectures (SOA), relational andobject oriented databases, embedded, server and desktop operating systems, and mechatronic systems. The 8 most common programming languages (Java, C, C++, C#, PHP, JavaScript, Python en Visual Basic) and related paradigms are part of our knowledge base.
Besides the technical we also provide experience in project management approaches, including RUP, Scrum and Prince 2.
Model Driven Software Development
A key aspect of software development is it's continuing development, in both the areas of discipline and technology. This development complicates matters as it goes hand in hand with the specific developments in your own product domain. As a result, meeting ever shorter development lead times and time to market requirements becomes very difficult.
Part of the way out, we believe, is model driven software development. Decreasing the amount of manual labour by automating the repetitive tasks of software engineers and testers can save a lot of time and money better spent otherwise. Using state of the art tooling can lead to increases in productivity of 30-50%, with of course similar cost reductions.
In order to benefit from this, we can help you with the introduction of techniques like Domain Specific Modeling or Model Driven Architecture, using state of the art tools like MetaEdit+, Eclipse with XText and Enterprise Architect.
Web application development
Web based applications have become part of peoples lives more and more over the past 15 years. As part of it's offering, Delphino Consultancy offers development services for such applications, based on PHP, HTML, JavaScript and Java.
Of course, development is subjected to the model driven software development approaches we explained above, so that development efforts are minimized where possible. As a result, we can offer quick and safe development of such applications, without the need to offshore development to very remote locations.
Workshops on architecture and specification
In many cases, there is no need to hire an architect or engineer for an extensive period. Sometimes, the necessary information and knowledge can be extracted from an external person, or your own engineers, in a limited amount of time. All that's required is an approach to achieve this goal - in the form of a structured specification workshop.
By means of approaches like RaPiD-7, initial requirements and design specifications can be created in a one or two day workshop, provided all relevant stakeholders in your organisation are available to participate. Only limited preparation is required by the specification owner and a workshop faclicator.
The key to succes here is that all stakeholders, who would normally provide information upfront, and review a specification after it's written, become co-authors of the specification. This reduces the review cycle and at the same time takes care of conflicting requirements by having the stakeholders address them together very early on.
Our experienced facilitators help you organise these workshops, including preparation, facilications and reporting afterwards.
Trainingen and coaching
All knowledge and experience available at Delphino Consultancy and it's partners is also made availble through training and coaching.
Training
All our training courses are tailor made, in cooperation with your team. This allows us to provide training that is very close to the day to day work of your engineers and architects, which is far more effective than using theoritical off the shelve materials.
Examples of succesful trainings using this approach are a Test Driven Development training conducted for a company in Amsterdam, together with LearnIt in Amsterdam, and a Software Architect training at Mikrocenturm Eindhoven, together with Quality Catch.
Coaching
Coaching of employees, but also customers, product manager etc. is often part of the job of (senior) architects, and as such a key element of the job of being an architect.
Delphino Consultancy offers coaching experience as part of the services above, but also in the form of independent coaching programmes for employees or teams. If you require coaching on technical, organisational or personal effectiveness, we can provide you with a tailor made proposal, after talking to the requester as well as the intended coachee.
